Autumn experience in the Dolomites

Colourful outlook

The trees wear are at their brightest, the landscape becomes colourful: Yellow, red, orange leaves, clear distant views and colourful vistas are on the agenda. The harvesting of potatoes and maize is about to begin on our farm, which will then also end up on the menu in one way or another in the future.

By the way!
It is particularly beautiful now

… enjoying “Keschtnbrotn chestnut roast” under the Love tree

The smell of roasting chestnuts is in the air – it’s autumn and Törggele time!
Every Wednesday, before dinner, we invite you to enjoy the traditional “Keschtnbrotn” (roast chestnut) and hot drinks under our Love tree. The panoramic views are included! By the way: You will also find chestnuts in all sorts of variations on our restaurant menu. Mhmmm!

… in the middle of the forest, on the alpine pasture and at the summit

Depending on the weather, one of the many hikes is always worthwhile in autumn. Alpine paths, such as the one to the Gönneralm (Vila di Sopra) and the Knuttenalm (Riva di Tures), show themselves from their most beautiful side and summit happiness is also not long in coming. Mild temperatures make the excursion into nature a pleasant interlude. Colourful autumn paths begin right on our doorstep.

… during cattle drives in September and October

When the cows, sheep, goats or horses return home from the summer pastures, there is plenty of reasons to celebrate! Colourfully decorated cows with magnificent wreaths and elaborate embroidery, floats, live music, culinary delicacies and a supporting programme for young and old await.

… at “Kirschta” church fairs in the surrounding villages

The traditional church fairs, which the locals call “Kirschta“, are also certainly worth seeing. Usually accompanied by parades, the erection of the “Kirschtamichl tree”, the tasting of local specialities, music and dancing, the festivals give an exciting insight into the rustic customs of the locals.

… bargain hunting at the Stegona market

Once a year, usually towards the end of October, the largest market in Tyrol takes place in Stegona near Brunico: The Stegeno Market. A visit to the market used to be an absolute must, especially if you wanted to get through the harsh winter safely. Today there are numerous market stalls and market criers who want to sell their goods to men and women: from clothing, shoes and stamp collections to all kinds of collectibles that would steal the show at a flea market, you can find everything here. A spectacle worth seeing!
